Volcano Hot Pot Carrollton: Reviews & Ratings
If you are looking for a chill place to get some good food and drinks, this spot is for you! This was our first time trying Hot Pot, but our server Josh gave great recommendations and wonderful service. We joyed it a lot!! I will definitely be coming back
My husband and I love having hot pot together. We stumbled upon this place and thought we’d give it a go. It wasn’t crowded at all and just a few patrons on a weekday evening. We were so glad it wasn’t loud or noisy at all and that we can carry on a conversation. The cool part is definitely the conveyor belt that carried a plethora of veggies and items you would want with your meal. The items are covered in plastic wrap so it’s hygienic and you only grab what you want. Bean curd is a must for us with hot pot! Upon being seated, we were handed a menu and chose a soup base. They have a quite a few options, but our go-to is the tomato soup base. It’s like tomato soup without the thick, heavy cream. It’s also pretty cool that you get your own little “hot pot” so I don’t have to share with my husband. The meats and other items are out in the open for you to grab when you want and how much you want. However, be mindful to only take what you can eat. This place also does Korean bbq if you wanted to do that in tandem with hot pot or to just do whichever you prefer. Our waitress was super friendly, and they collect your empty dishes on your table which is really nice. Overall, a yummy experience!
The overall experience of this place was nice. I loved the idea of the conveyor belt, BBQ, and hotpot all in one place. The service was quick and fast and whenever we had dirty plates on the table it was gone in a second. Though, the selection of food was limited and there was not much variety of seafood and meat, but still there was enough to make you full. The bathroom experience was... not very pleasant it smelled horrifyingly disgusting to the point I’ve lost my appetite. (Yes it is that bad) In conclusion to my review, this place was OK, there wasn’t any wow-factor to it. It was fun and kid-friendly but, the food selection is just like what other hotpot places have. They have a lot of potential in this restaurant and if they changed the selection of food and put in more effort into the place, I would come back for sure.
Introduce my friend of mine to this place for dinner to share the great experience I had last summer. The quality of the food is consistently spot on and the servers were so kind and caring. Highly recommended and the strawberry ice cream is fire I believe it’s the best Hot Pot in Dallas.
I went here because someone in my family saw a Facebook vid about this place. Skeptical about media in general I was thought I was prepared for disappointment. The location is located in the back of a shopping center that was extremely busy when we went in 830 on Friday. Be prepared to fight for parking spots and drive defensively against some very bad drivers. The restaurant is in a shotgun style space narrow in width but quite deep. Formerly the location was part of a exceptional buffet that I ate five years ago, but sadly succumbed to the covidness. Consequently we had to wait about 30 min to get a table. Conveyor belt in between the tables was extremely disappointing. It was a metal link type belt that paraded sad dry vegetables in cling wrap covered bowls. The meats, seafood and desserts were located by the front door. You just grab what you needed. Meats are decent in quality. The short ribs are marinated in a satay sauce. A welcome difference. We chose the 31.99 hot pot and grill option. A very good price I would admit. I chose the tom yum broth; it was very good, but oddly they don't have soup spoons to taste the broth. Couple of food notes: The only fish balls they had were the stuffed Taiwanese ones. I usually find those disagreeable Canned longans were in the dessert area. They weren't skimpy on the seafood. The stock was kept up, they didn't run out of anything. Our server was horrible! She took a long time to get our drink and soup order (15 min). Also she took a long time to get refills for our drinks. Exasperated, I requested two sprites (2.95 free refills). She looked bewildered at my request and served me one drink When we were about to leave, she moped toward the front and was talking to another server, about how she was not going to get a tip. Yes, I actually heard that when I passed her by. She was on the verge of tears, but we did leave a tip. If you're not going to provide service and act like you don't want to be there, you shouldn't be serving customers. The woman has a mousy appearance and if you're going to this restaurant, please choose another server. Overall, the restaurant was fair but the service left a bad impression for me. Don't fall for the gimmick of the conveyor belt, it's not that impressive.
A solid choice for an All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) hot pot experience. One of the biggest pros is the decent pricing, which is always appreciated when it comes to AYCE restaurants. Another standout feature is the variety of seafood options available, surpassing many other AYCE hot pot places I’ve tried. The broth, while not as spicy as I had hoped for (even though I ordered the Spicy Broth), was incredibly rich and flavorful, easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The rotating belt, which allows you to pick your own veggies and noodles, is also a nice touch. However, there are a few cons to consider. The meat selection is limited to just four options: lamb, chicken, beef and pork, all of which are frozen. In comparison, other AYCE hot pot restaurants I’ve visited offered a wider range of meats that aren’t frozen. The vegetable and noodle selection on the rotating belt was also somewhat lacking. Another minor inconvenience was the placement of the pots; which were farther away from me, making it a bit more challenging to eat comfortably. Additionally, unlike other hot pot places that provide complimentary steamed rice, Volcano Hot Pot charges for it, and you have to specifically request it. On a positive note, customer service was good, which helps to enhance the overall dining experience. Considering all factors, I would rate this place a solid 4 out of 5 or a 7.0/10. While there is certainly room for improvement, the delicious broth, seafood variety and decent pricing make it a worthwhile choice for hot pot enthusiasts!
This hotpot is by far my favorite one, they are different from other hotpot restaurants in that they let you get the meat you need! You no longer have to keep asking the waiter for your order! Although their slices of meat are thin, you can take as much as you want. They also have a wide variety of vegetables, and they don't just give you a little bit. The food on their rotating track is wrapped in plastic wrap to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the food. The disadvantage is that it is a bit of a waste of plastic wrap. Even if the food you want is not waiting for you on the carousel, you can still order from the waiter. The only downside was the ice cream, which didn't taste like ice cream at all.

However, it's worth noting that some guests have expressed mixed feelings about the selection of seafood and the hygiene of the bathroom facilities. The service has also received varied feedback; a friendly and attentive staff can enhance your visit, while any lapse in service may leave a lingering taste of disappointment.
